The Manufacturing Transparency Act

Why I wrote the bill

Why I wrote this proposal.

Do you think about where the products you use every day are made?

As we were all sitting in isolation during the Coronavirus Pandemic of 2020, I began thinking about where everything is made.

Many of us found out that critical necessities for our survival in case of an emergency, such as medications and protective equipment, were almost entirely manufactured overseas. This greatly concerned me.

The Chinese Communist Party has proven repeatedly, especially during the COVID-19 outbreak, that they are not interested in the wellbeing of the rest of the world. They are a dictatorship that actively oppresses their own people and surrounding nations. Unfortunately, many countries and corporations turn a blind eye to China in exchange for “access” to the 1.5 billion people of China and essentially a globally approved slave labor force.

There is a saying, apparently coined by Andrew Breitbart, “Politics is downstream from culture”. I generally believe this to be true. The ways people think dictate their society. And for better or for worse, politics and culture are often cyclical.

I hope that if people see little China, India, Malaysia, Mexico and other flags when they go to the store, they will begin to think more about where their products are being made. They might begin to think “where are the American flags” and “really, I thought this was made here in the USA”.

I believe that a self-reliant America is a strong America.

This is why I am turning to you, the people.

Unfortunately, I do not believe my current Representative shares my ideals and one of my Senators is currently under investigation for insider trading.

Please share this with any policy makers you know. I do not care who proposes it or what state it comes from, I want what I think is going to help the country.
